Need Inspiration!

Just watched Living On a Dollar A Day. It you haven't watched it, you must. It's on Netflix this month. Really reminds you of what you have and gets you thinking about helping others.  Check the story out at livingonone.org.

10 Items to Get Rid of in New Year

1. Expired Coupons - Toss em or donate them. You can donate them to military family's overseas that can use expired coupons at the Commissary.  I have provided a link below that I found online. I personally give them to a coworker who's son is overseas. She mails them with her stuff.

2. Clothes - If you haven worn them for 2 years. Safe to say you probably won't ever wear them again.

3.Magazines and Newspapers - If you haven read it in 3 months or your done with it get rid of it. Donated it to your local library, school, retirement community or simply recycle them.

4. Kitchen Gadgets - If you haven used it in a year. It's safe to get rid of it.

5. Mail Stack - Address it, file it or shred it. Don't get in the habit of setting aside for later. Maybe check your mailbox once a week at a dedicated time you have to address the entire stack at once.

6. Expired Medications - Prescribed and OTC - Don't dump em. Most local pharmacy's like Rite Aid will provide you an envelope to ship them off to a safe recycling center. You just pay shipping. Or, ask them how to find out when you next local free disposal event is.

7. Sentimental Stuff - Don't keep because you feel guilty about tossing it. The memories are all you need.

8. Outdated Electronics - They are only going to get more outdated sitting in that closet. Donate them to a thrift store, foster agency, or Boys and Girls Club. You can also recycle it. Contact you local Trash company they can tell you where and when they take it. If they charges. ask about free events. Don't forget that this includes your box full of old plugs!

9. Hair Accessories and Makeup - If you don't use it get rid of it. Still have a crimper from the 80's then donate it.

10.  Neglected projects -Either commit to finishing them by the end of January or toss em.

Think this is a good start for the New Year.

Monday Monday

So why does Monday feel like busiest day of the week? Isn't it supposed to be rejuvenating after a long weekend? Soooo not the case. I must have the Monday blues..,I didn't get my Monday Hit list done with my weekly to dos, appointments and crazy schedule. I did end up at the school 3 times today for car pool duty and a sick child. Had to walk out of an important meeting for child dutys and worked extra long day to make up for all my extra breaks today. In the end , I still got to hang out with the kids why they did reports and I cooked dinner.  Guess it turned out to be a good day anyway :)
